History

1956/08

Established as Amagasaki Coke Industry Co., Ltd. through a joint venture between three companies: Mitsubishi Chemical Industries Ltd. (now Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation), Kobe Steel, Ltd., and Amagasaki Steel Co., Ltd. (which later merged into Kobe Steel), in order to manufacture coke for steel-making (capital: JPY 500 million)

1961/04

Capital increased to JPY 1.5 billion

1963/05

Osaka Gas Co., Ltd. acquired a stake in the company

1966/11

Began operating the Amagasaki Works coke oven in Ogimachi

1970/05

Built the Kakogawa Works; began operating a coke oven

1970/11

Capital increased to JPY 3 billion

1973/07

Capital increased to JPY 6 billion

1976/08

Changed company name to its current name (20th Anniversary)

1987/05
