High-quality products and clean manufacturing technology.
Our coke manufacturing technology is designed to make
the most efficient use of coal and has earned us
a solid reputation.
We combine state-of-the-art technology with knowledge
cultivated over the years to efficiently manufacture
high-quality coke. As a dedicated coke manufacturer,
we strive to create innovative technologies.
Coal is unloaded from large ships at the wharf and transported to the coal storage area by conveyor belt. The coal is blended and crushed, then dry-distilled into coke for steel-making in our coke ovens. The coke is supplied to Kobe Steel's Kakogawa Works, adjacent to our plant, on a 24-hour basis.
We remotely monitor operating conditions at the plant at all times.
Our advanced centralized management system ensures safety and peace of mind by making it possible to achieve a streamlined manufacturing process and, in the event of an abnormality, to quickly assess the situation and respond appropriately.
At our R&D facilities, where we obtain and analyze high-level data, we are working to improve coke quality in order to meet the needs of a changing society and market.
We are building on the results of many years of research in areas such as efficient combustion and environmental solutions to create superior products.
Manufacturing clean, earth-friendly products is our
responsibility as a specialized manufacturer of coke
for steel-making. We are pursuing the potential offered
by a variety of environmentally friendly technologies.
Once unloaded, coal is coated with a coating agent and then sprayed with water in order to control the dust generated during its handling. The amount of water sprayed is adjusted according to factors such as the season, wind direction, and wind speed, and this water is collected and reused.
Our facilities are sealed to prevent the release of particulate matter from coal and coke. In addition, we have installed dust collectors at the kiln mouth and guides to minimize dust emissions generated when coke is extruded, as well as flue dust collectors to prevent black smoke from being released from coke oven flues.
We developed and implemented a proprietary automatic coke oven heating control system that has reduced coke oven gas(COG) consumption by approximately 5 percent compared to before it was implemented. This system has been adopted by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) as an International Demonstration Project on Japan's Energy Efficiency Technologies.
To prevent the discharge of contaminated rainfall and water used to prevent the spread of dust, we remove any coal particles and reuse the water for further dust prevention measures. In addition to the conventional activated sludge process, we have installed activated carbon adsorption equipment to treat wastewater generated during the manufacturing process.
